Career Coach
CurrentI became a Career Coach by accident. This wasn't a path I envisioned 10 years ago. If anything, I had pictured myself as a renowned Health Communications Specialist, writing for the World Health Organization or contributing to BBC's Health Desk.I've worked in various organizations. My earliest paid gig was as a contributing writer for the Institution of Engineers Kenya (IEK) magazine, a role I got through a referral from a lecturer. Shortly after, I landed a job as a Content Editor at a telecommunications company, also a referral from a friend. Then, serendipity happened. In 2019, someone sent me their CV, asking for a review before submitting an application to the Nursing Council of Kenya. I revised it and thought nothing of it. Later, I helped another person prepare for an interview. They asked me to review some pamphlets and skim through their script, ensuring everything aligned. They got the job - and, once again, I moved on without a second thought.Since then, I have:- Revamped 500+ CVs- Reviewed hundreds of CVs- Rewritten 200+ LinkedIn profiles- Helped professionals prepare for interviews- Spoke to 1000+ professionals about their careersThe result:- Empowered professionals to unlock new career opportunities- Supported meaningful progress in career journeys- Boosted confidence in personal branding
