Readjustment Counseling Services known as the "Vet Centers" are a specialized division of the Dept. of Veterans Affairs and provide a broad range of counseling, outreach, and referral services to war zone veterans, survivors of military sexual trauma and the families of those who have lost someone during active duty. Vet Center services are delivered through community located multi-disciplinary teams. Hired as the first ever Marriage and Family therapist to join the Chatsworth/Sepulveda Vet Center team and designated as the Sexual Trauma and Family Specialist for the Center. Deliver couples, family, group and individual counseling, with a focus on the family unit of the war zone veteran. Interface with VA medical staff, specialized treatment programs and social workers as needed to facilitate treatment planning. Outreach to Veterans in the community to encourage use of services and educate the community and external mental health providers on Veterans’ concerns and needs. Oversee the implementation of clinical policies and procedures and provide clinical supervision to unlicensed staff.

Deliver general counseling services to adults, adolescents, children and families including treatment of mood and personality disorders with a special focus on survivors of sexual assault, incest, domestic violence, those who have witnessed violent death and those who are currently dealing with chronic illness. Perform case management and refer clients to medical, housing and financial resources. Interface with Department of Child and Family Services and Victim/Witness Restitution Fund.
