I come to Celera by way of Berkeley Heart lab, Inc. (BHL) which was acquired by Celera in October of 2007.At BHL, I built IT operations from the ground up, focusing primarily with infrastructure (ANSI/IEEE) required for software development within a highly regulated industry. Created operational practices that enabled a full product development life cycle from feature/defect submission, through installation of in house LIMS development and connected robotics and systems. Systems & Processes created included: Configuration management, IT Help Desk, Documentation management Defect/Feature Tracking, Formal Verification & Validation, Version Control, MRD, SRS, SDD.Once this division was created, I was assigned to assess the costs associated with producing each of BHL's several dozen products. This included mapping the entire production/service process including time/motion studies and cost analysis for this $70 million lab. This led to me initiating a ground up design and development of in-house EMR system for automation on inbound sample tubes and outbound reporting.I was assigned by CEO to oversee all logistics associated with the new BHL Europe offering.

eFinder, Inc was a wireless content aggregation company focusing on bridging the gap between the consumer's point of need and the point of sale for Consumer Package Goods companies via the use of handheld devices, like cell phones and PDA. Responsibilities included daily management of all financial and operational activities, investor relations and the deployement of the first product line.The product was complete, but the company could not raise the additional capital required to roll it into the market place in the wake of the Dotcom bust contributed coupled with fall-out of 9/11 on the media community on Avenue of the Americas.

Intraspect is a multi-meda knowledge management company which needed to improve their 'time to market' with their latest version of software. Additionally they required the estabilishment of formal technical services.

Empart specialized in delivering grapahical parts-mangement softwar to Fortune 100 companies. This company begain life as a professional services company and was seeking to turn their suite of products into 'shrink wrap' business software. I was brought in to assist in establishing the Verification and Validation processing required for productization of the software and to formalized the software engineering practices. I believe this company was subsequently acquired.
