Through BioSerendipity, I consult for scientists and publishers of STEM journals and provide freelance editorial and scientific writing services. Services for authors and scientists include scientific consulting and editorial services, and career training services. For publishers, I provide guidance and training for editorial boards and perform projects for editorial and business offices. I also write free commentary on science topics of interest that range from issues in scholarly publishing to developments in medicine and applied science.

Working as a consultant for AAAS and the Science business office, I developed a series of editor training modules, an author training workshop for scientists, and a journal management workshop for editors. I serve as the trainer for each of these materials. The workshops are designed to be presented over a 2-day period. As part of the journal management workshop, I evaluate the online materials for journals, providing recommendations for improving clarity and consistency and identifying broken links. The first workshops occurred in China, the summer of 2019. I serve as the trainer for editors in the Science Partner Journals program.

As Director of Research Collaboration, I provided support for the Artemis Project, provided updated scientific information for the NBCC website, wrote Science Spotlight articles for the monthly Call to Action newsletter, and performed research and analysis as requested by the President.

I taught a Molecular Pharmacology course for two years in the Part-Time Graduate Program, Masters in Biotechnology program (12-30 students oer class). I mentored the laboratory course-"Independent Study-Biotechnology" (1 student per semester), which was also part of the Masters in Biotechnology program. I also was one of three instructors who taught Cell Biology in the undergraduate school (>300 students). I taught the cell signaling and cell cycle sections of the course.

I was in Douglas Fambrough's lab, taught undergraduate Biology, and was a part-time instructor for the Biotechnology program.
