As the Founder and CEO of Developmental Enrichment Centers I have expanded my expertise in non-profit leadership. Our agency has grown from a mere 12 clients to six years later serving hundreds of children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families through our life skills training programs and in-home care services. Our Home Care specialists offer 24 /7 care and assistance and our facility provides a 40 hour weekly adult training program and 20 hour weekly children’s training program afterschool and during the summer months. I take pride in the development of a comprehensive staff training and development program that offers opportunity for advancement within our growing organization. The high level of skilled services provided by our trained staff thereby improves the overall quality of life for our clients and their families. The life skills training curriculum offered through DEC is the result of my life work on behalf of children, and adults with disabilities, and personally influenced through caring for a child with multiple disabilities. Having personally experiencing the overwhelming challenges in raising a child with severe medical and developmental disabilities, I am uniquely suited to serve as a strong advocate for others in similar situations. Together with my team of dedicated professionals, we are committed to helping our clients and their families navigate the governmental systems and work closely to connect them with additional community resources. As a female entrepreneur, I have built a successful non-profit social service agency from initial concept to profitability in a mere 6 years. My management skills have provided the basis for operating the agency through three consecutive state funding cuts and a stagnant economy. And In spite of these financial challenges, led the organization through two major expansion projects.
