I propel executive women on their path to the boardroom by assisting them to identify their value proposition and create and execute their plan to secure a board seat. My consulting services include a variety of offerings for women interested in this goal.

Athena is an Executive-Education-as-a-Service platform executive community that makes it easy and accessible for women leaders to learn from their peers and advisors who have the expertise to assist them in their career advancements. I'm delighted to be part of the advisor network that focuses on boards of directors. I have shared my insights on "how to gain a corporate board seat" with over 200 Athena members. Many of these women now serve on their first corporate board due to the coaching, resources, salons, connections, opportunities, and network in the Athena platform.

I was asked to launch the San Francisco 2020 Women on Boards Annual National Conversation on Board Diversity in 2015. I chaired that the first and second San Francisco events and remained on the SF Leadership Committee until 2020 when the initial goal of 20% of corporate board seats held by women for the 3000 public companies tracked was reached. I'm very proud of my early involvement in the movement to focus on the need for more gender diversity in corporate boardrooms.

I joined as head of WIB, a regional banking trade association when women CEOs in banking organizations were few and far between. Under my leadership, WIB grew significantly in offerings, revenue, and membership. This growth was a result of our strategy and determination to succeed as a “niche” association focused on community banking needs. WIB was hailed as a “feisty regional powerhouse” under my leadership by the American Banker newspaper.During my 25 years, WIB developed a reputation as the premier provider of professional development and networking for senior bankers and bank board members from community and independent banks throughout the West. My passion was the development of executive leadership & management and corporate governance programs.I led the startup of Western Independent Bankers Service Corporation in 1994, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the association, which provides products and services to community banks throughout the West, and served on the corporate board and as corporate secretary. I served on the board of WIB's Workers Compensation Self-Insurance Group Board since its inception in 2005.

I worked closely with bank leaders throughout California as a member of the CBA senior management team. I held increasingly senior positions with overall responsibility for federal government relations, political action committee reporting and fundraising, public affairs, media relations, communications, conferences, and educational seminars. My experiences included organizing grassroots lobbying efforts of top bankers to Washington DC to discuss legislation and regulations.

As a staff member for three different Members of Congress (Bill Goodling-PA; Bob Price-TX, and Don Clancy-OH), I analyzed and drafted legislation, wrote floor statements, and managed constituent relations. Committee work included Agriculture, Armed Services, Banking & Finance, Education, and Ways & Means. Highlights of my experience include: watching Air Force One land when Nixon returned from the historical visit to China; sitting in the Watergate hearings; and being involved landmark legislation that saved Amtrak.
