The Jupital worked with a team of journalists, which deliver balanced and unbiased news. The Jupital aspired to leave the reader feeling confident and uplifted with a different mindset by the news they have read. The newspaper’s vision was to challenge the way readers think about the mainstream news they read by offering them fresh, productive perspectives. With these perceptions, the Jupital aimed to educate the reader’s mind there may be more productive ways of absorbing the news.As the founder, publisher, and Editor-in-Chief of the Jupital, my leadership involved overseeing a team of 25 plus journalists and setting the editorial and commercial direction for the newspaper. Made decisions about marketing the newspaper to ensure it would deliver the type of content the newspaper would offer to entice our audience. My responsibility was to manage the design, editing, and production process with the help of proofreaders, printers, and other editors. Purely Posh PR & Events was a London-based PR and Events consultancy firm launching and relaunching restaurants and bars in London and organized worldwide diverse events such as weddings, fashionable celebrity events, film or theatre openings and after parties (press nights), product launches, fashion shows, event competitions, corporate events for finance, banking, law and oil industries and day and evening business networking events.As the founder, in the early days of starting the business, my PR responsibilities were writing press releases, calling media contacts, setting up interviews with spokespeople, and attending creative brainstorming sessions. Some restaurants, which were successfully launched by my company were Yatra & Bar Bollywood, The Grill Room in Café Royale, and Hasan Raju. With the natural flow, the business moving in the direction of restaurant PR. As the business grew, my responsibility of onboarding a team specializing in the food sector with further promoting restaurants food hubs, and bars, however, welcomed clients within various other industries. My leadership role moved to delegate operations to a team of five which involved ensuring the team kept growing the success of the business. Within years of starting the business, my second section of the business started, which was the events side. Former owner and managing director of a 6-floor jazz pub and bar, which was located in Trafalgar Square, off of Haymarket and Pall Mall London. Was responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of a bar and meeting long-term goals for the establishment. Worked hands-on at the bar and delegate responsibilities to management staff. Dealt with issues between staff members or challenging patrons. Dealt with the PR, Marketing, and Word of Mouth for the jazz bar and restaurant along with advertising, other marketing options, such as promotional events and traditional print. Also put in place a “jazz membership” database, which consisted of over 3000 business and individuals, which had visited Nancy’s bar such as celebrities, music industry individuals, film industry individuals and art and media individuals.
