About Nancy Grady
I have had a career-long passion for creating order and value out of raw data, in both research and in application development. I am a generalist Data Scientist (or unicorn) working in every step of the data science lifecycle – currently focussing in cyber space operations. I'm developing machine learning capabilities in our DNS-based suite of offerings, specifically for BGP situational awareness analytics in the open internet. I developed my own knowledge-from-data systems, processes, and products in a large systems integrator, a National Lab, startup companies, and Universities. I have worked in Cyber Security, Biosurveillance, Homeland Security, Retail, and Patent domains. I have a passion for learning, both for myself and having taught at the college level - and having participated in several programs to encourage middle and high school students to enter Science and technology. I have recently led R&D projects for both big data and cyber analytics. I'm currently trying to leverage my physics PhD to understand quantum computing.
