Prior to being an OT, I worked in the non-profit sector for disadvantaged populations, providing information and access to resources. My passion for service stems from my personal experience caring for family members, with complex cerebral palsy, brain injury and the aging population. My faith has also brought me to serve others. I believe in a personal and higher calling for my work. I am also committed to providing equitable and culturally responsive care for those from diverse backgrounds to meet their social, cultural and language needs. My goal, one patient at a time, is to strive to create a positive patient experience, while providing education and quality skilled therapy. I enjoy care coordination with collaborative communication in an multidisciplinary approach. I believe in working together to focus on individuals as a whole person, to enable them to obtain the maximum resources to increase their independence, and safety, while enhancing their quality of life. This includes providing caregiver/family education which is an imperative piece for patient safety, support, and discharge planning. In occupational therapy, my experience has been predominantly working with adults, in long term acute and post-acute settings. In 2023, I transitioned to a new position in outpatient with a focus on nuero-based populations.I am passionate in providing clinical supervision for level 1 and 2, COTA and OT students.
