After a full career of working in Information Technology in the Print Industry, I decided to move to an entirely new venture. I wanted to work more closely with people, both on a supplier and client basis. I wanted to be more of a meaningful part of people’s lives. I decided to work closely with my sister, Lisa and in January 2012, I completed the requirements of TICO (Travel Industry Council of Ontario) for both Travel Consultant and Travel Agency Manager. We are happy to introduce our business. Destination by Design is a full service custom travel planning and consulting business doing business under Direct Travel Personal Experiences. Direct Travel Personal Experiencea is very supportive and in line with our creative itineraries and our mission, “To provide excellent service in making each travel plan a memorable and fulfilling life experience”. Researching, planning and saving for a trip or vacation, is challenge for many people. Without the right combination of a carefully planned itinerary to see the sights and areas you personally are interested in and managing the cost of the trip effectively, many people struggle to realize their dream vacation. Destination by Design is dedicated to make each client’s trip “a better holiday”. I like to think of myself a as ‘hybrid’ Travel Advisor. We can book any travel service you require and bring extensive first hand travel knowledge to the table having visited more than 377 cities in over 91 countries; in addition to over 41 cruises, in a lifelong quest to see the world! Anyone who knows me can attest that travel and world exploration is my life’s passion. In 2021 & 2022 I was recognized by Conde Nast as a Travel Specialist. This was due to how well we looked after our clients as the pandemic practically crushed world travel. Only about 436 travel professionals are awarded this Conde Nast honor. So needless to say I was quite humbled. Everyday, I continue to work under our mantra You dream…we’ll take care of the rest!
