Over 35 years of regulatory, operational, strategic, boardroom and management experience in the financial services industry. Currently serving as an independent board member and consultant to financial services companies, particularly tech-enabled models.Nanda retired in 2020, as an Executive Director at at the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). At the RBI, Nanda worked in several departments and has decades of experience in both policy making and at the operational level, with specialty expertise in the regulatory framework for Payments, Fintech and Non-Bank Finance companies. This framework serves as the basis of the RBI's current regulatory policies covering the aforementioned sectors.Nanda was actively involved in design, development, regulation, and supervision of innovative, technology-based retail payment systems for India, namely, the Unified Payment Interface (UPI), the Bharat Bill Payment System and TReDS. She was also associated in the amendment of the Payment and Settlement Systems Act, 2007. Additionally, as Executive Director, Nanda directly managed 30+ Regional Directors across India, Principals of Training Institutes, and a team of 250+ officers at the RBI headquarters in Mumbai. She has been member of several working groups both within and outside the RBI, and has represented the RBI on many national and international fora, such as the Committee for Payment and Settlement Systems at the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) in Basel, Switzerland. She was a nominee Director from RBI on the Boards of several institutions. She also led the recruitment processes for various senior executives including CEOs of various government-affiliated organizations. Nanda received her Bachelors of Science (BSc) and Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Lucknow. She is also a Chartered Associate of the Institute of Bankers (CAIIB).Nanda is a native of Lucknow, India and currently resides in Bhopal, India. She maintains a strong network in India, Europe and the United States.
