About Nanda Legerstee
A good UX is one that works so smoothly it is invisible. In the last 15+ years I have endeavoured to achieve effortless user journeys. Asking the right questions to get to the core of the user problem as well as the core business reasons why we want to achieve this. As a UX designer I am the linchpin between what is required by the business and what the user actually needs. I listen to the user and the business requirements and combine the two. However, I’m always the user’s advocate, representing them in the development process and defending their interest. I’m passionate about making products that improve the lives of users. Looking critically at a user interface and finding beautiful ux solutions that bring joy to the user, and bring improvement to the world. With the Toon thermostat I helped to make sustainable choices easier for users, working in the market of energy insights and energy transition.I enjoy designing in an agile environment. What I enjoy about that is that you make a product with a whole team, you don’t work as an island but involve everyone in the design process. I love working together in teams, together with other people who are passionate about what they do. And input from other disciplines like development and marketing is inspiring to me as a designer. I communicate easily with different disciplines, speak the language of developers, marketeers and product owners. The last couple of years I have broadened my skill set in the field of creative facilitation. I love how it has many touch points with UX design. As a facilitator I prepare an experience for participants when I prepare a workshop. Given what the goal and end result should be of any given workshop, there are a thousand ways to get there. Like with a good UX design, a good workshop design leads the participants to the end goal so smoothly it feels effortless. Lately I’ve been applying my new skillset to online facilitating.
