Within the EcoGenes project I have been analyzing NGS data of the Iberian Lynx (Lynx pardinus) Eleven Iberian and one Eurasian male lynx (Lynx lynx) have been sequenced to medium coverage (~26X) as part of the Iberian Lynx Genome Project (www.lynxgenomics.es). Using this data we called and genotyped 1.5 million SNPs to investigate the genomic patterns of variation and demographic history of the species. Analysis of genome-wide SNP data showed low levels of genetic diversity, high inbreeding coefficients and large blocks of linkage disequilibrium in the extant populations.
