KICKSTART is a professional development experience that equips a career services team with the skills to be strategic and innovative. Kickstart leverages cohort-based learning with a group of peers who have diverse backgrounds and professional experiences.The program has been designed to cater to career professionals with various career services roles such as career education, employer relations, internships, experiential learning, or marketing/data/operations.

Plan and execute marketing and recruitment activities directed toward prospective online and transfer students by: • Proactively reach out to or follow-up with prospective students to get them to the next step in the recruitment process• Guide students through admission and financial aid application processes• Be a resource and advocate for prospective students of assigned programs to help them navigate the recruitment process, understand their options, make educational choices, and transition to being a student• Support students during the on-boarding and orientation process, proactively reach out to ensure they have what they need to get a successful start• Work with the Academic Advisors to facilitate registration• Building and managing customer relationships through online connections and representing the University at national & regional college fairs/events and community college visits• Arrange and conduct site visits at community colleges• Host recruitment information sessions (in-person and online), webinars, education fairs, etc. Develop and deliver public presentations that promote the campus and its programs• Making team admitting decisions using a holistic process• Reach out to and develop relationships with local and regional employers as assigned to provide information about online programs and engage them in discussions about the needs of their business and workforce• Supervising work study students• Consistently use the customer relationship management system (CRM) and other systems to document student data and interactions. Ensure the accuracy, thoroughness, and timeliness of data. • Develop and manage metrics and reports to help identify priorities, manage workload, and measure results• Experienced in Slate, People Soft, Perceptive Experience, and Salesforce along with other systems

o Admissions Counselor InternPlanned and executed marketing and recruitment activities directed toward prospective students by: Building and managing customer relationships while representing the University at national & regional college fairs/events and high school & community college visitsCoordinated recruitment efforts with various campus units and campus departments, project management, time management, goal attainment, and scheduling extensive travel within assigned geographic territory;Making team admitting decisions and supervising work study students in telemarketing efforts;Providing information and counseling to potential students and family members.I was hired part time in the spring semester to implement the Golden Opportunities recruitment campaign because of my accomplishments during my internship. My internship was more involved than the usual internship because of staff shortages and it created an opportunity for me to participate more as a full admissions counselor than an intern.
