Part of the Gender Justice and Environmental Justice Program:• Conduct research on gender and environmental justice issues, i.e., relevant laws, policies, and case law;• Analyse legal frameworks and identify gaps or areas for reform;• Draft legal documents such as affidavits, legal opinions, and court submissions;• Prepare correspondence related to on-going cases or advocacy efforts;• Support attorneys in litigation by organising evidence and drafting pleadings;• Conduct client interviews to gather information and understand client’s legal issues;• Assist in developing advocacy strategies related to gender and environmental justice;• Liaise with medical experts involved in cases, and present evidence on GBV cases;• Advise mining-affected communities on social labour plans and relevant mining law;• Facilitate community training sessions on social labour plans and human rights;• Write letters to the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy regarding social labour plans;• Engage in community outreach to raise awareness of gender and environmental justice;• Contribute to research on topics related to gender and environmental justice; and• Assist with administrative tasks such as maintaining case files and updating databases.

Part of the Home, Land and Rural Democracy Program:• Conduct legal research, analysing case law, statutes and international standards;• Conduct client consultations and compile statements in support of litigation; • Draft legal documents including letters of demand and debriefing letters for counsel;• Draft letters for seeking expert advice from academics and other human rights experts; • Help prepare progress reports, case summaries and documentation for internal records; • Conduct an on-site inspection of a municipality for a service delivery case;• Conduct client interviews to gather statements for court papers in water justice cases; • Assist in preparing court documents and case materials;• Liaise with the court registrar and clerk to file urgent applications to oppose an eviction; • Prepare and facilitate community education workshops and outreach programs; and• Keep clients regularly updated on the progress and status of their cases.

• Design and conduct experiments to develop and test new or existing catalysts;• Use laboratory instruments to carry out synthesis, characterisation, and test catalysts;• Analyse and interpret results to make recommendations for process improvements;• Identify and troubleshoot issues related to catalyst performance and plant operations;• Prepare reports, research papers, and technical documentation for stakeholders;• Manage research projects, i.e., planning, scheduling, and coordinating resources; and• Contribute to the development of IP, such as patents or proprietary processes.

• Conduct patent analysis to review and assess the latest industry developments;• Evaluate competitor patents to understand their innovations and strategies;• Conduct patent clearance investigations and develop knowledge of competitor intellectual property;• Support the drafting and filing of patent applications and related IP documentation;• Collaborate with stakeholders, including patent attorneys, to develop patient growth strategy; and• Prepare reports and presentations on IP landscape and innovation for stakeholders.

• Conduct lab experiments and catalysis projects to support new technology development;• Analyse data, optimising process performance through lab-scale operations;• Prepare reports and documentation based on research findings and patent analyses;• Develop experimental protocols to enhance catalyst performance improvement and reduce costs;• Conduct patent searches and competitor evaluations to support patent strategy; and• Assist in writing proposals and publications, and present findings to stakeholders.
