Development of linear and nonlinear attitude control strategies for a Multi-Rotor Aircraft. • The main goal was to determine and control the attitude of a multicopter. Fundamentals of Model-Based Design methodology. Plant modeling. Analysis of plant dynamics and Open Loop simulation. Control system design. Software-in-the-Loop simulation and control laws validation to achieve an effective plant modeling, by means of Matlab®/ Simulink® simulations.• Flight-testing campaigns to obtain a static characterization of the propulsion system (propeller, brushless motor, motor regulator). Modeling onboard sensors (accelerometers, gyro, magnetometers, static pressure sensor) integration and hardware-in-the-loop simulations with an Arduino microcontroller.• Trade-off study among different types of filters for data fusion was developed.• Further flight-testing campaigns to validate the models.

GNC (Guidance, Navigation and Control) and AOCS engineer in the ‘Dream Team’, a team from 11 universities and 8 countries participating in RASC-AL 2016 competition sponsored by NASA/NIA. Team leader of the Advanced Atmospheric Aerosol Acquisition and Analysis (A5-Unibo) Experiment within the BEXUS/REXUS programme which is realised under a bilateral Agency Agreement Center (DLR) and the Swedish National Space Board(SNSB). The Swedish share of the payload has been made available to students from other European countries through a collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA). I coordinated a team of engineers, scientists and students throughout the mission phases: design, manufacturing, integration and testing of A5Unibo experiment for Earth observation. The goal of the experiment was the study of the clouds formation and the climate change using a multi-instrument approach. The experiment was launched in BEXUS 18 stratospheric balloon on 10th October 2014 from SSC, Esrange Space Center at Kiruna, northern Sweden.
