• Deimos-2 (Very High-Resolution Earth Observation satellite) operations and flight segment systems engineer. Telemetry analysis, fault detection, propulsion maintenance and trend analysis, and FOS software updates. Subsystem analysis. Collision risk assessment and mitigation, space debris tracking and collision avoidance activities for both Deimos-1 and Deimos-2. Analysis and evaluation of the orbit, evaluation and execution of satellite manoeuvres and manoeuvre campaigns (flight dynamics and orbital mechanics). • Ground segment monitoring and control operations (planning of acquisitions and downloads, pass scheduling, ground station providers contact, 24-7 services, contingencies analysis, incidence reporting (JIRA), emergencies, ground station and antenna systems).

The aim of this research is to develop an stable control methodology for three axis stabilisation of an underactuated spacecraft in underactuated conditions, only two independent torque components are available for controlling three attitude degrees of freedom. Design, development, stability proof and validation in Matlab/Simulink environment of the new control approach.

Development of linear and nonlinear attitude control strategies for a Multi-Rotor Aircraft. • The main goal was to determine and control the attitude of a multicopter. Fundamentals of Model-Based Design methodology. Plant modeling. Analysis of plant dynamics and Open Loop simulation. Control system design. Software-in-the-Loop simulation and control laws validation to achieve an effective plant modeling, by means of Matlab®/ Simulink® simulations.• Flight-testing campaigns to obtain a static characterization of the propulsion system (propeller, brushless motor, motor regulator). Modeling onboard sensors (accelerometers, gyro, magnetometers, static pressure sensor) integration and hardware-in-the-loop simulations with an Arduino microcontroller.• Trade-off study among different types of filters for data fusion was developed.• Further flight-testing campaigns to validate the models.

GNC (Guidance, Navigation and Control) and AOCS engineer in the ‘Dream Team’, a team from 11 universities and 8 countries participating in RASC-AL 2016 competition sponsored by NASA/NIA. The team developed an innovative mission design to deploy a crewed mars moon mission (IMaGInE mission). This design won the competition: 1st Prize overall, 1st price by theme ( Mars moons mission) and the Peach Award.Mission design definition and requirements. The European Student Earth Orbiter (ESEO) is a micro-satellite mission to Low Earth Orbit. It is being developed, integrated, and tested by European university students as an ESA Education Office project. Team leader of the Advanced Atmospheric Aerosol Acquisition and Analysis (A5-Unibo) Experiment within the BEXUS/REXUS programme which is realised under a bilateral Agency Agreement Center (DLR) and the Swedish National Space Board(SNSB). The Swedish share of the payload has been made available to students from other European countries through a collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA). I coordinated a team of engineers, scientists and students throughout the mission phases: design, manufacturing, integration and testing of A5Unibo experiment for Earth observation. The goal of the experiment was the study of the clouds formation and the climate change using a multi-instrument approach. The experiment was launched in BEXUS 18 stratospheric balloon on 10th October 2014 from SSC, Esrange Space Center at Kiruna, northern Sweden.
