I prepared novel gold core-shell nanostars for enhanced fluorescence of near-infrared dyes for fluorescence-guided imaging during real-time tumour resections. My role involved experimental design, synthesis, characterization and presentation of my work at the international E-MRS 2019 conference in Nice, France.

I co-developed a novel nanodroplet for use as a drug carrier in concurrent chemoradiotherapy and designed a chemically-induced degradation experiment to model nanodroplet behavior under radiotherapy. I also oversaw general operation of the laboratory and training of incoming students, facilitated weekly lab meetings and aided my PI in preparation of grants and research proposals.

I assisted fellow researchers in the synthesis of phenyl-C61-butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM) crystals for organic solar cells.

Researched and synthesized multilayered and low-emissive optical coatings

Worked with network engineers and project managers and prepared a corporate social responsibility profile for the Cisco Connected North initiative. Developed a case study and represented Cisco as a judge for the 2014 Women in Science and Engineering Conference.
