In my role within Edinburgh World Heritage as Youth Officer I was expected to seek out, initiate, develop and fund-raise youth activities within the Green Heritage Project. The post required me to work on my own initiative, with a need to be able to communicate with a wide range of groups and individuals throughout Edinburgh. The position involved coordinating activities on awareness-raising within the local youth communities of the importance of carbon savings, developing community-led food and waste projects, promoting the use of green routes and alternative transportation and monitoring the actual carbon savings.
