A new role with the newest and fastest-growing Pharmacy Group in Ireland. I was tasked with developing strategies to drive prescriptions and healthcare sales for our pharmacy partners. Focusing on supporting independent pharmacists drive their business in more engaging ways through training, connected health, service & campaign design and implementation. We aimed to expand the role of the pharmacist and their team and become champions of health in the community.

'Change your Health direction' is a health and wellness programme offered through LloydsPharmacy branches nationwide. Customers can avail of free weekly 1-2-1 coaching from our expertly trained colleagues in the privacy of our Care Rooms. We have developed an 8 week programme to help lose weight or quit smoking. Hundreds of customers lost a combined total of over 6000lbs in 2015. We have lots of great new products to improve nutrition, energy and overall health. I manage the central project team and am responsible for the design and ongoing development of the programme. This also involves coming up with at least one healthy recipe every week, along with some of our in-store coaches and colleagues. Nice way to keep myself motivated too! Check out our blog for more.

A senior member of the Sales & Marketing team, reporting to the director with two direct reports, contributing to the department’s overall strategy and budget. I was primarily responsible for designing and implementing health focused campaigns/services/projects/strategies to drive sales in prescriptions, health & medicines and skincare. I worked closely with the marketing, commercial and HR departments, along with the superintendent pharmacist, to promote health initiatives and drive prescription sales. I worked alongside 5 area managers, 94 store managers and their teams to implement new projects and services. I managed our Care Services team in driving business and supporting clients in the nursing home market. I dealt regularly with patient interest groups and associations to establish collaborative partnerships and I liaised with members of charities and health organisations to research new and better services too offer to our customers and patients. This role involved regular research, patient/customer/professional focus groups, project design & management, service design & implementation, presenting, business case creation, results analysis, target-setting, internal & external communications and marketing. Recent projects include Change Your Health Direction – weight management & smoking cessation program –, MyMed Smartphone App – to assist medication adherence - and our Asthma Control Service – adherence program.

As well as carrying out the daily duties of my current role, I was temporarily assigned to manage the marketing department while recruitment took place for a new head. I worked with the team on weekly tasking, development of company strategy, budget compilation and management, working with external agencies, approving POS and PR content and design. I also worked hard to provide a source of support to a new team in the absence of a permanent manager and structure. I was involved in the recruitment process, interviewing candidates for the role of Head of Marketing.

A diverse and varied role within the Operations Department at Support Office, dealing with pharmacy teams, regional managers, charity partners and suppliers. I was challenged with identifying new areas for growth in the business, as well as supporting pharmacy teams in high-competition areas.

Working with the division manager, I was responsible for identifying and packaging best practices in pharmacy & professional services for roll-out across all Celesio Pharmacy groups. I worked with department teams in all Celesio countries to develop implementable packages for new and improved professional clinical services, housed on a specially designed central intranet.
