I am a manager, developer and pioneer of programs designed to assist those re-entering the community from various criminal justice settings. I firmly believe that “God Does Not Make Junk”. Given the right opportunity most people can make significant changes in their lives if they are motivated to do so. Our prisons are filled with citizens of our great country who have made wrong decisions in their lives. By assisting and teaching them to make right decisions we as a country have the ability to tap into a great resource. We currently spend trillions of dollars yearly warehousing people in our prisons and jails across this country. State and federal budgets have been negatively impacted as a result. Over the last 30 years our country has spent trillions of dollars fighting a “war on drugs” designed to affect the supply side of the addiction problems in this country. We have lost the war because we chose to fight it on the wrong front. The demand side of this war has been significantly neglected despite overwhelming evidence that treatment works. As a professional in this field I am dedicated to reclaiming lives damaged and traumatized by addiction, mental illness, poverty and incarceration.
