With over 26 years of experience in higher education, including 9 years in leadership roles, Narayan Thapa is an unshakable optimist who believes in the power of higher education to make a real difference in our society.Narayan is the Dean of Mathematics at Dallas College. He previously worked as a tenured professor and chair of the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma. Similarly, he served as the Director of the Partners in Learning (PIL) program at Minot State University in North Dakota. Additionally, he has served as Chief Editor, Academic Editor, and Reviewer for several peer-reviewed journals, and as Vice-Chair and Chair of the Mathematical Association of America's Oklahoma-Arkansas Section.With a background in STEM and experience in instructional leadership, curriculum design, and assessment, he has led and facilitated interdisciplinary curriculum and STEM projects to provide high-impact learning opportunities for faculty and students. He has supervised and mentored over 40 students in 30 interdisciplinary projects funded by various agencies, including the Educational Advancement Foundation and the National Science Foundation. He has a long record of scholarly activity including the publication of several research papers, books, and presentations at over 35 national and international conferences.
