Member Secretary of the Defence Acquisition Council, the highest body charged with these issues. Evolved long term structures and technology perspectives for the Army and Armed Forces while serving in the Perspective Planning Directorate and Integrated Defence Staff. Was Commander of a Corps in the Western Sector responsible for major portion of Southern Punjab and Rajasthan. Involved management and handling of over 60,000 troops of all specialisations and high technology equipment comprising of over 1500 armoured fighting vehicles, networked surveillance including unmanned aerial vehicles, missiles and engineering equipment.  Served as Chief of Staff of a Corps responsible for the entire Ladakh Sector including Kargil and Siachen.Planning and execution of support by road and air for nearly one lac troops including six month period road closure due to winter snows. Airlift management of approximately one lac personnel annually and winter stocking of 1.20 lac tons of supplies each year during the road open period. Efficient management resulted in reducing annual airlift from 2500 tons to 1900 tons. Handled planning, sanction and overseeing execution of major civil works and their maintenance cumulatively costing above Rs 100 Crs annually. Qualified pilot.
