I have acted for the profession as an RIBA design competitions assessor, and my track record in steel construction and sustainable design has lead to my current role as chair of the Structural Steel Design Awards. I have spoken for the profession in many international symposiums on design and practice matters.Beyond architecture I am passionate about sailing; with strong associations with the sea and boats I am a qualified Yachtmaster and boat owner. Sailing a cruising yacht develops team work and confidence in an exciting context.
