My key responsibilities are:- To ensure that the charity complies with its governing document, charity law, company law and any other relevant legislation or regulations- To ensure that the charity pursues its objects as defined in its governing document- To ensure the charity applies its resources exclusively in pursuance of its objects- To contribute actively to the board of trustees' role in giving firm strategic direction, setting overall policies, defining goals, setting targets and evaluating performance against said targets- To safeguard the good name and values of the charity- To ensure the financial stability of the charity- To appoint and support the chief executive officer and monitor his/her performance.I do this through a commitment to the mission of the charity to encourage individuals into a STEM career. I have a willingness to devote time and effort not only within the role on the Board but also as a volunteer at events. I have a strategic vision, integrity, creative thinking and an ability to work effectively as a member of the team.I regularly talk on behalf of the trust at events, such as the STEMTech conference, and to corporations, such as Siemens, as well as to our sponsors and VIPs. I am also a member of the grant subcommittee.
