9 Years working as a programme lead for a migrant labour organisation has flown by. We're an informal organisation run by migrants for migrants and we aim to transcend barriers whether they are financial, social, or geographic in order to provide advocacy, advice and support.9 Years ago I was new to this. Since, I've done things I didn't know even existed when I started. I have spoken to the SG of the Commonwealth, had inputs in the UN Consultations and presented the situation of young labourers to MPs from around the world. I've met new friends and made the case for people from my background to be heard. I'm easy going and realistic and I know that this stuff takes time and I enjoy the work I do on the ground - as there I can see that we're making a difference. Bits have been fast and bits have been slow, and I am aware we've only broken the ice. There is so much that can be done and it's the potential of what can be achieved that motivates me.
