Summer internship at Alcatel-Lucent (formerly known as Lucent Technologies)During that time I took part in Test Envitonment Visualization project. It is a Java application that displays a diagram of connections between Messaging Bridge and other systems in the network. It consists of an applet and a server communicating with each other using RMI. The user interface is written in Swing and utilizes 3rd party graph library. The system is capable of simple network diagnostics and test scenario simulations. The GUI uses an interesting algorithm that optimizes network diagram by minimizing the total length of graph edges in order to achieve human friendly visualization.
