About Nastaran Gholizadeh

My name is Nastaran Gholizadeh. I am a data scientist/machine learning engineer with over 5 years of experience and a PhD in Software Engineering and Intelligent Systems from the University of Alberta. My expertise lies in data analysis and applying advanced machine learning techniques, including deep neural networks, convolutional neural networks, federated learning, generative adversarial networks, large language models, reinforcement learning, and natural language processing to diverse projects focusing on real-world challenges using both Python and R programming languages. Specifically, my PhD thesis was focused on applying reinforcement learning algorithm to control network reconfiguration in power distribution systems. I also specialize in using Docker and Kubernetes for continuous and scalable integration and deployment with AWS and Google Cloud. I have a proven track record of publication, which can be explored further on my Google Scholar page. I have taught numerous machine learning and data analysis methods and topics in the AI4Good Lab 2021 and 2022 as well as during my lab instructor and teaching assistant positions at the University of Alberta. Currently, I am a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Alberta conducting research in responsible and explainable AI in energy systems.
