Our Offer to LGBTQ+ peopleWe want to create space for the LGBTQ+ community to easily access innovative forms of therapeutic and wellness support.Queerwell will provide or connect you with LGBTQ+ informed mental health specialists, workshops and services within a queer informed space, to help ensure and restore your mental health.Our work’s primary focus will be on those members of our community in greatest need and with the least resources.

I ensure that Stonewall Housing provides effective and efficient advice, support and resettlement services across all core service. I Lead in developing and monitoring the delivery and standard of services. I help influence regional and national policy to improve the experiences of LGBT+ people.

I managed several contracts which allowed us to provide housing related advice for LGBT+ communities across London.I manage a team of workers covering areas such as domestic violence, family breakdown, illegal evictions. We specialize in challenging oppression people face in their own homes and communities. We provide excellent legal advice and advocacy as well as providing a safe environment where LGBT+ people can be listened to and understood without judgement or need for explanation. In addition to managing the advice team on a day-to-day basis I continued to coordinate the LGBT Jigsaw Project which is now part of the London Youth Gateway. My role is to provide support to the LGBT partner agencies to make sure we deliver a joined up approach on a pan London basis whist also making sure local authorities get value for money.

Since qualifying as a social work I have been appointed to set up a single pathway approach to dealing with youth homelessness for a multiply disadvantaged group of young people. I coordinate the information, advice, advocacy and support to homeless young people (and those at risk) through a multiagency project known as LGBT Jigsaw. This involved working closely with a range of London charities as well as the police, social services and local housing departments. The role also includes chairing case conferences and other meetings as well as managing my own case load. It has also given me experience of managing social work students. My work with victims of honour based violence and forced marriage has been given recognition.

I worked developing a new emergency housing services for the trust. I led on service user involvement and consultation. My work focused on the users’ perspective.

The majority of my time was taken up working on Exceeding Expectations an anti-homophobic bully project with a range of statutory and voluntary organisations. I worked closely with Healthy Schools and City Council’s Chief Executives Office to encourage better representation of LGBT issues in PSHE and more broadly in the curriculum. I was also responsible for helping the organisation become more young person friendly ,specially around representation of young volunteers.
