I organized a group to participate at the Biotechnology YES competition.We, a group of researchers from Northern Institute for Cancer Research (Newcastle University) set up a fictitious company, and worked out the potential market. We made a business plan involving patents, finances and the science behind the invention. We presented our innovation to a panel of judges to convince venture capitalists to invest in our company.Our group was one of the two groups selected out of 17 as winners of the regional competition in Edinburg to present in London at the finals.At the finals in London we were awarded with the “Best Healthcare Business Plan”.
