Research work in the group of Gasper Tkacik focusing on information processing in living systems, prediction from genomes and biological networks with relevance to medicine. Projects: 1. Building an interpretable statistical genomics model to predict gene expression based on knowledge of regultory pathways from experiments. By modelling the propagation of genetic and environmental effects through known regulatory pathways, we aim to not only predict gene expression, but also uncover its causal genetic basis. We believe that interpretability is key for application of genomic predictions in personalised medicine.2. Understanding the collective dynamics and information processing in pancreatic beta cells in healthy and diabetic individuals. Understanding how pancreatic islets achieve precise regulatio of blood glucose is key to understanding the causes of diabetes onset. Work in close collaboration with an experimental physiology group of prof. Rupnik at Medical University of Vienna.

Board member for the Slovak Branch of the International Young physicist Tournament (IYPT): One of three Co-organisers the national tournament-related events for 50 to 150 participants, such as an introductory seminar weekend with lectures and hands-on workshops or regional and national competition rounds or preparatory seminar prior to international competition. Took part in selecting a team of 5 to represent Slovakia at the International Young Physicist's tournament.Co-organised an International physics debate competition for >300 participants, selected to oversee and create expert juries in 2013 and 2014, assisted the IYPT Executive committee with various organisational tasks year-round in 2016-2019.

Member and Captain of Slovak national team at International Young Physicists' Tournament (IYPT) at IYPT 2014 (UK) and IYPT 2015 (Thailand). IYPT is a team oriented science and debate competition. Our team won a Gold and Silver medal, competing with representations from >30 other countries.

Worked on a number of projects and contribuited to a 4 scientific publications. project 1: worked on a mathematical proof in the context of quantum information randomness protocols. project 2: led statistical analysis conducted for sports industry: analysed an effect of patented ice-hockey tape on players' performance project 3: worked on the theory of a classical mechanics 'Ring Oiler' problem.
