Pro-actively manage and support the business in relation to HR issues to ensure customers service requirements are successfully met by the business. Update the senior management team on any forthcoming legislation which may impact upon the business and to give guidance on how to successfully manage it. Contribute to HR strategies, policies and procedures ensuring that business plans and targets are met. Resolve potentially conflicting priorities using HR best practice and taking into account the immediate business requirements. Manage the balance between ensuring good industrial relations, without an interruption to service levels against the need to drive through changes to working arrangements, practices and employee numbers.

Act as a credible business partner, to develop and raise the profile of HR function whilst adding value to the business. Develop / implement effective HR plans to focus on operational issues such as performance and absence management to support line managers to gain results. Working as part of the field management team as the first point of contact for relevant HR issues to ensure they are dealt with in a legally compliant and timely manner. Coach the management team and communicate HR advice / legal updates. Influencing the actions of others by explaining the possible consequences and benefits.

Providing support and guidance to Operational Management from Director Level down, on a range of HR disciplines including employment relations matters, recruitment & selection, employee development and employee reward. Providing first-level consistent advice to ensure adherence to legislation and employment law is maintained. This was achieved through coaching and direct communication to maximise operational management’s ability to make decisions relating to HR issues, based on good practice and in accordance with Company Policies and Procedures. Acting as the HR representative at management meetings and work with the management team to provide commercial based HR solutions to operational issues.
