Hello! Here's a little about me! I am an author, Director and EDI Consultant. In July 2022 I was awarded the Merseyside Women of the Year Social Impact accolade and included in BBC1xtra's Future Figures 2023.My debut book KEISHA JONES TAKES ON THE WORLD was published by Little Tiger in August 2033, with the next book in the series, KEISHA JONES IS A FORCE OF NATURE, published on 1st February 2024. I am represented by Chloe Seager at Madeleine Milburn Literary, TV and Film Agency. I am the Director of Skywriters, an award winning creative education social enterprise that supports individuals, communities and businesses. Skywriters won Best Start Up Business of the Year at Merseyside Independent Business Awards. I am a cofounder of The Goddess Projects, an organisation with the mission to empower, inspire and assist black women and women of colour to develop and achieve in their communities. I am also the founder and Chair of The Period Project Merseyside, a voluntary led initiative providing women and people who have periods with menstrual items and campaigning to #endperiodpoverty. My interests include reading, writing, dancing, exercising and socialising. My strengths are: Creativity, Innovation, Social Impact, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, Participation, Community Engagement and developing and delivering Education and Training packages; especially around anti-racism and community cohesion. Author- Freelance Oct 2013 - PresentI am currently represented by Chloe Seager at Madeleine Milburn Literary, TV and Film Agency.I graduated from The Open University with an open degree which incorporated creative writing. I was runner up in Writing on the Wall's 'Pulp Idol' 2019 competition and the author of children's educational book 'Her Hair: A Crown', a resource developed in partnership with Manchester University, Ahmed Iqbal Ullah Race Relations Centre, and Cedar Mount Girls group, to diversify the curriculum in Manchester Schools.In 2020, I exhibited poetry at Output gallery and commissioned articles and published on mental health, activism, literature and racism in ROOT-ed Zine, Rattle Magazine and Black Ballad. My latest educational resource, 'Skywriters' was launched on World Book Day 2021, and I was commissioned to write children’s stories for Liverpool Biennial. My exhibition, The Stuff of Poetry 2021, was held at Liverpool John Moores University to celebrate Black History month. The Exhibition, combined activism and creativity, encouraging participants to take action on issues such as Violence Against Women and Girls, Black Lives Matter and Period Poverty.

Youth And Community Worker At Liverpool Youth Offending ServiceLiverpool Youth Service Dec 2009 - Jul 2012Supporting young people aged 10-18 with their personal development, preparing them for work and independent living through budgeting and life skills sessions.Delivering accredited personal development programmes tailored to the individual.Reducing risk of re-offending through access to positive activities in their communities to prevent reoffending by networking with different organisations and being aware of what was on offer.Delivering prevention through Triage to access drug and alcohol education as well as supporting the prevention team in their summer programmes.Mentoring young offenders whilst completing their Order and line management responsibility for volunteer mentors.Key Achievements:I developed and delivered the Anthony Walker Hate Crime and Diversity project for young offenders to identify and challenge inherent prejudices on a 1 to 1 and group basis. In partnership with the Anthony Walker Foundation, I facilitated a nine week programme exploring stereotypes, racism, anger management, diversity, hate crime and their own offending. I delivered offending behaviour programmes such as Crime and Consequences, and The Violent Offenders . I used cognitive behavioural therapy to tackle young people's attitudes and thought processes in relation to their offending.I also developed and delivered a specialised girls work programme that was inform by research and influenced by a focus group of females to meet their needs and prevent re-offending.
