• Supported a team of Merit Review Officers (MROs) through each stage of the Merit Review cycle, including reviewer recruitment, application responsiveness review, online application critique management, merit review meeting material preparation, and post-merit review discussion note management.• Worked with the Project Manager, Planning and Policy Coordination to draft and manage the Merit Review Funding Cycle Timeline; ensured that MROs were aware of upcoming cycle deadlines and competing priorities.• Collaborated inter- and cross-departmentally, including with A/V, IT, Procurement, Finance, and Meetings & Travel departments, to coordinate the logistical preparation necessary to carry out Merit Review panel meetings.• Drafted a new Merit Review stipend policy for the PCORI Policies and Procedures database.• Worked alongside a Senior MRO and members of the PCORI Digital Media team to redesign the external facing Merit Review webpages.• Supported the Assistant Director, Merit Review with the Merit Review Workgroup by scheduling meetings, drafting slide decks, taking minutes, and drafting/formatting the final workgroup report.
• Assisted a UGA doctoral student with her dissertation, the ATL ARCH study, which is a longitudinal study analyzing the relationship between substance abuse, relational influences, and sexual risk behaviors among at-risk Atlanta youth. • Conducted literature reviews, assisted with survey development and administration, created health communication posts, developed recruitment materials, and served as an overall health resource person.
• Interned during Summer of 2018 with the Atlanta Harm Reduction Coalition, a community-based wellness organization with a mission to promote health and dignity by reducing the impact of blood-borne diseases and substance use within vulnerable communities. • Assisted in facilitating the AHRC needle exchange program within the Atlanta community, which focused on decreasing the spread of blood-borne diseases like HIV and Hepatitis C that are passed via unsanitary needles; collected data regarding participants' zip codes and demographics to be passed along to the CDC for ongoing needs assessment.• Administered rapid HIV, Hepatitis C, and STI testing, and was trained to administer emergency Naloxone in the case of opioid overdose. • Assisted in grant writing and strategic program planning.
• Conducted policy research and interviews with regional stakeholders as part of a team effort to put together an evidence-based wind energy barriers and opportunities analysis for the states of Georgia and Arkansas; The analysis will help the Southeastern Wind Coalition have a better understanding of where to effectively engage resources to promote the development of wind energy in the region.• Oversaw email planning correspondence, coordinated invitations, and documented meeting minutes/action items for the North Myrtle Beach Offshore Wind Conference hosted by the SEWC; the conference brought together state and local government officials, private investors, and representatives from government agencies like NOAA and BOEM. • Developed and shared digital media content on each of the SEWC’s social media platforms to promote objective research, relevant current events, and overall education about the coalition’s mission.
