I have worked in Cardiac Rehabilitation for over 8 years. Currently I am the Cardiac Rehab Service Lead at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust. I began my career as a band 5 Exercise Physiologist at Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge for 2 years, before progressing to a band 6 at Imperial College Healthcare in west London. I perform comprehensive assessments and functional capacity test on a wide range of cardiac patients, provide exercise prescription and lead patient exercise and education sessions. I have worked with a diverse population groups, often requiring the use of interpretation and patients with complex needs and multiple comorbidities. I am currently BACPR Secretary having been an Ordinary Officer from 2021-2023. I have been involved with networking events, along with the development of annual conferences along with being a speaker at conferences, webinars, produced numerous abstracts. I previously led exercise sessions for a Long term Cardiac Rehab group (ECG Fitness). I processed referrals and managed entry into the group. We set up virtual exercise sessions during the COVID19 pandemic. I worked on the PULSE study as a clinician, this study is a collaboration between UHCW and Imperial, and will be working alongside MMU on future projects.
