About Natalie Lafferty Risoli

My name is Natalie Lafferty and I've been an elementary school teacher for going on 20 years.I attended The University of North Carolina Wilmington and graduated in 2002 with a BA in Elementary Education. Not wanting to leave the beach, I began teaching in Wilmington in 2003 and remained at the same school for 14 years! I taught 2nd grade for four years and spent the remainder (a decade) teaching 5th. I moved to Raleigh 5 years ago and was welcomed into the Yates Mill family as a 4th grade teacher. I’ve truly enjoyed the relationships I’ve built with staff, students, and the YMES families.During my time as a teacher, I've developed and facilitated lessons for very diverse groups of students. I've led teams of teachers in modifying their instruction and learning new methods for measuring student success. As a leader in my profession I've learned the importance of communication, trust, and vulnerability. I am eager to use the skills I have developed as a teacher to discover new and exciting job opportunities available in my area.
