The Leeds Guide is an online “what’s on guide” for Leeds and the Yorkshire area. I was in charge of updating all the arts related features on the site. This involved liaising with marketing departments, editing relevant press releases and images. My responsibilities included.• Overseeing the layout, appearance and content of feature articles• Generating ideas for features • Commissioning articles from freelance writers• Managing freelance feature writers• Editing and re-writing articles• Overseeing artwork, design and photography for the features section of the website• Understanding and complying with media law and industry ethical guidelines• Selecting feature articles for the site• Proofreading articles before going to site• Raising the profile of the site• Networking with client marketing departments• Assisting other staff to meet their deadlines.

My current role is in developing social media strategy and setting goals to increase brand awareness and increase engagement. I have responsibility for managing all social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, engaging blog posts and creating multimedia content such as articles.I am actively forming key relationships with influencers across the social media platforms, managing and facilitating social media communities by responding to social media posts and developing discussions. My responsibilities involve monitoring and reporting on performance on social media platforms including educating other staff on the use of social media and promote its use within the organisation.

Duties included, serving customers, working the bar serving food, door staff and working tills. I have undergone Stonegate’s online training for all aspects of bar work including health and safety, legal legislations, handling customer complaints, food hygiene, manual handling, handling emergency situations including fires and optimised drinks preparation.
