I’m a recent graduate from the Iowa Western Community College Dental Hygiene program. I served as the class President for our Student American Dental Hygienists' Association and was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa honors society. Prior to going to school I was an Expanded Functions Level 1 Dental Assistant and have worked in public health for 10 years. I strive to provide quality care to every patient I see by ensuring they feel completely comfortable while in my dental chair and fully understand their oral hygiene recommendations and treatment options. I’m often asked to take on other responsibilities because I go above and beyond in all my tasks, know how to manage my time, and do quality work properly. I created standards of work and other documents to help current and new employees have all the proper resources. I trained new employees and taught students who came to the office to do their clinical rotations. I really enjoy the extra responsibility of teaching them how to do their job well and seeing them improve each day! During my time in school, I contributed 40 hours of community service for various causes and spent several days seeing patients at Offutt Air Force Base and Heart Ministries. I've volunteered at Iowa Mission of Mercy twice as an assistant and look forward to doing it more often as a hygienist! nsweeney928@gmail.com
