Work across the vegetable R&D organization to support the implementation and establishment of breeding technology tools, including IT and marker systems.Organize field and greenhouse trials (sowing, transplanting, harvesting, collection and analysis of data, supervising labor)Assist with nursery operations for germplasm development/advancement (seed organization and tracking, greenhouse plant maintenance and pollinations), and maintain database with inventory recordsHelp to implement and utilize molecular breeding technology toolsActively participate in cross functional teams (Coordinating with farm, greenhouse, and office personnel)Seed packaging, inventory, shipping, records, database managementShipments foreign and domestic, working with USDA to obtain field inspections, phytosanitary certificates, import permitsPerform safety inspections, and assist in providing safety training and guidance to field personnel.Supervision and training of temporary employeesWork closely with other research sites and growers to keep program operating efficientlyWork irregular and long hours during peak sowing and harvest seasonsEvaluate horticultural issues during growing seasons for nutrition, disease, and pest problems, researching and presenting possible solutions/course of action
