Towergate Insurance - Launched in 1997, Towergate is the UK’s largest independently owned insurance intermediary, generating more than £3 billion of pro forma gross written premium across its companies and employing 4,000 people across 120 UK offices. It grew rapidly by acquisition and has to date acquired over 300 specialist insurance companies.Joint ownership of the Finance function of the Ecommerce Division, reporting into the Regional Managing Director, with a dotted line into the Group Finance Director.The Ecommerce Division housed the businesses that did all, or the majority of, their transactions online, either independently or via well-known price comparison websites. Key duties:• Annual and rolling budget preparation• Financial analysis• Review and audit of each businesses monthly accounts, liaising with the business accountants and business MDs as necessary• Cost review and profitability maximisation• Production of monthly board pack and associated representation to board• Acquisition reviews• Large expense authorisation• Divisional salary increases and bonus calculations• Liaising with external auditors • Attendance at business locations across London and Southern England• Direct line management of 3 staff• Indirect line management of c. 50 staff
