Strong skills in business strategy development, marketing strategy, corporate and departmental governance, and successful product/service introductions into new markets.As Secretary of the Board of Directors of LECIP Inc., I established the Chicago office for the Japanese manufacturing parent company that generated $11M in sales in only its third year in operation. Observed and recorded the workings of the Board of the US company and reported to the Japanese Board on business strategy and financials.I have also served on several not-for profit boards: American Public Transportation Association (APTA) - both the Board of Directors and the Business Members Board of Governors (2011 – present). APTA’s Board is responsible for hiring the organization’s CEO, reviewing and approving all budgets, ensuring all policy decisions meet the governance rules, and monitoring overall policies. Co-Chaired the Procurement Steering Committee, currently chair the Business Members Procurement Committee, and was Vice Chair of the Technology Procurement Task Force. Also served on the Standards Development Operating Committee, the Strategic Planning Task Force, the Task Force on By-Laws and Governance, and the Nominations Committee for the Board of Directors and Executive Committee.WTS International (1993 – 2003). Served on the Board of Directors as National Conference Chair, Nation Fundraising Committee Chair, and as an elected Director. At the time I served on the National Board, there was no full-time Executive Director, so the Board was responsible for running the organization, from governance and budgeting, to by-laws, to helping stand up new Chapters, to filing the taxes.Cornell University – Cornell Alumni Clubs of Chicago (1995 – 2013) and Philadelphia (2014 – present). Served as Program Chair, President, and Secretary. Served on the umbrella Board for all alumni organizations (by appointment), which served to identify and share best practices, audit compliance with governance policies, and identify potential financial issues facing clubs. Also serve as a member of the University Council (nominated/elected position) that works closely with the Board of Trustees on planning for the future of the university. As part of Council, served on the Administrative Board and the Nominating Committee. I was elected to a lifetime membership in the University Council in 2022.
