• Support humanitarian partners in field locations where the World Food Programme-led Logistics Cluster does not have presence with the provision of services, assessing and reviewing current procedures to identify areas of improvement. • Act as the focal point through engagement and travel to key field sites where major activities are ongoing as well as to deep field locations. • Plan and conduct on-site visits and rapid assessments to monitor results and increase coordination, identifying and addressing gaps and challenges.• Organize and provide capacity strengthening and training for staff and partners.• Work closely with WFP units to identify expansion areas for cost-effective logistical modalities. Women from different humanitarian organizations came together to launch the Women in Logistics Network for South Sudan with the vision to empower women in South Sudan logistics & supply chain, addressing gender imbalance to enable the logistics industry to benefit from female talent. This is done by providing capacity building, mentorship, and networking opportunities, with an aim to do much more.
