Natalie de Koning is a textile and fashion designer based in Amsterdam. She develops textiles herself by using techniques like embroidering, stitching, knitting, dying and (hand)weaving. In her work she combines old craftsmanship and new innovative techniques of textile and garment making. Her style can be described as feminine with a sensual and flowy silhouette and a warm and soft color palet, both classical and futuristic influenced. Her latest collection series ‘PULP by Natalie de Koning’ tells the story of how it is possible to make good-quality clothes from materials that didn’t have a purpose anymore, such as post production textile waste. Together with Holly Syrret, she also developed a fabric platform called ‘PULP Fabrics’ which sells good quality surplus fabrics and upcycled textile waste for designers, students and interest individuals in their pop-up store in Amsterdam Oud-Zuid. Natalie de Koning graduated from Utrecht School of the Arts in 2011. She did an internship at Elsien Gringhuis. After her graduation she started her own company and she did several shows (Berlin Fashion Week, Tunis Fashion Week), exhibitions (High Fashion Low Countries, Dutch Design Week) and competitions (Green Fashion Competition, Lichting 2011, Reimagine Design Challenge). Her first PULP collection is part of her graduation at ArtEZ Fashion Masters in Arnhem in 2015.
