An experienced brand and marketing communications professional my background spans 20 years working with high profile brands. From retail, to banking, via national brands, including National Trust and British Airways, brand strategy and development is my career passion. My love of brand is backed up with solid experience and leadership including developing brand strategy and business vision and values, brand guidelines, tone of voice, font development and wayfinding (signage), social media standards and design principles. In addition, my marketing and comms expertise, including organisational structure and team management; marketing and campaign planning; internal comms and engagement programmes and publishing and content strategy makes me a good all-rounder for broad project needs. I’m a competent writer with a creative background, strong visual skills and an obsession for good design. My current role is as Head of Brand for Great British Railways Transition Team – an arm’s length government body created to bring Britain’s railways together to make rail simpler and better for customers. Developing brand strategy and direction for such a politically sensitive and challenging project includes negotiation and significant government consultation within a complex stakeholder landscape. The role also leads the Brand Design Studio, which guides design and brand guidelines for GBRTT alongside the future brand strategy. This project has been one of the most exciting and testing brand opportunities, set within a complex and constantly moving landscape, under close government, industry, press and media scrutiny.
