I have always believed in the power of storytelling. Having obtained my Masters degree in Dramatherapy from Roehampton University in London, UK, I am fascinated by people and what makes them tick. I love how role-play, stories and drama have the power to foster creativity, imagination, learning, insight and personal growth. Dramatherapy is a form of psychological therapy that uses creative approaches to explore life's challenges. Using play, movement, voice, story and drama, clients are able to look at their issues from a different perspective and ultimately gain insight and grow.A registered dramatherapist with ANZATA (Australia and New Zealand Arts Therapy Association) and the British Association of Dramatherapists in the UK, I have first-hand experience in a therapeutic centre for children who have experienced grief, loss, and emotional trauma. I have facilitated drama programs for children and adults with learning difficulties, assisted adolescents and adults in dealing with a range of mental health issues, both in the community and in a forensic setting and have helped excluded young people into the education system by developing dynamic creative programs.I created Playful Minds because I wanted to help kids experiencing big emotions use creativity and their imagination to express their feelings. I am passionate about empowering children and their families to cope with life's challenges in a creative way.
