I lead development of the long-term Rise to Thrive strategy, policy and campaigns. I am in charge of the legislative agenda and federal agency engagement. I build partnerships and collaborate with coalitions to further our campaigns. I manage recruitment and volunteer engagement. I work with the executive director to conduct grassroots and foundation fundraising. I serve as a strategic advisor and thought partner to the executive director and manage and hire staff. I represent Rise to Thrive to the public and the media.

The Partnership Project provides fiscal sponsorship and organizational support to environmental campaigns and partners working to protect our environment and sustain it for future generations.Our vision is to build a stronger, more connected, and more equitable environmental movement. As a fiscal sponsor, convener, and collaborator, we exist to support the work of our partner organizations in the environmental movement. The Partnership Project was founded to help foster collaboration and shared learning in the environmental community.

SCA’s mission is to build the next generation of conservation leaders and inspire lifelong stewardship of the environment and communities by engaging young people in hands-on service to the land. Every day SCA unites young people with hands-on environmental challenges.

I lead the campaign and strategic planning for all Zero Hour programs. I work with the leadership team to set organization-wide goals and to build inclusive and effective campaigns to end the era of fossil fuels and advance our mission for global climate justice. I work closely with the finance director and the executive director to raise and manage funds. I assist the executive director in maintaining the organization’s relationship with its fiscal sponsor. I help to manage the recruitment and onboarding of new staff and volunteers and I assist the directors in the creation of departmental plans and the management of their teams. I work with the leadership team to develop digital and traditional communications. I engage with external partners and coalitions and represent Zero Hour publicly.

Care About Climate builds global political will for climate action. Leading up to the 2014 Paris climate conference, Care About Climate gave presentations across the US to teach people about the Paris agreement, domestic climate policy, and how to get involved. The Climate Sign has since been displayed on the Eiffel Tower, and used by prominent climate activists such as Al Gore and Jane Goodall.

I led the development of the long-term Greenpeace USA climate campaign strategy, ensuring it aligned with the goals identified in the Greenpeace network's Global Framework and that relevant campaign projects advance that strategy in measurable ways. I managed the Greenpeace USA climate team and worked closely with project leads for national and global campaigns, to evaluate results and adjust approaches as appropriate. I served as the public face and voice of climate work for Greenpeace US and as a strategic advisor and thought partner to program leadership and project teams across the organization. I collaborated with Greenpeace colleagues across the global network to inform and advance an international climate agenda. I worked closely with other campaign directors including the Democracy and Oceans as well as the Engagement Team, Communications Team and senior leaders to create a compelling and cohesive narrative for Greenpeace's work and specifically how the climate campaign contributes to that broader narrative.

I led the Wilderness Society's efforts to make public lands and waters part of the solution to the climate crisis. Specifically, by eliminating fossil fuel development on federal public lands as quickly as possible while transitioning communities to a more just and equitable economy, increasing responsible renewable energy projects on these lands, and protecting old growth forests and their ability to sequester and store carbon. I directly line managed a team of staff responsible for project management, campaign advocacy and policy development. I served as a key partner to Philanthropy staff to cultivate and steward donors supporting Climate Solutions work. I worked collaboratively with leaders across the organization to set strategy and annual performance measures, establish and oversee discretionary budget, and helped maintain external partnerships.

As the United States Policy Director for 350.org and our c4 sister organization 350 Action, I was charge of creating the long term political strategy and policy stances for both organizations. I have planned and hosted several events, including rallies, lobby trainings, and marches and given numerous presentations to organizations. I have extensive fundraising experience, both in foundation grant writing and individual grassroot donations. I managed a team that consisted of the c4 manager, policy analyst, electoral organizers and fellows. I led the 350 Action endorsements process, helping to create the candidate questionnaire, researching potential endorsees, and creating the strategies necessary to help win campaigns. I worked with the digital, communications, organizing, strategy and partnerships and the justice, equity, diversity and inclusion departments, to ensure effective cross team collaboration. As a member of the United States Leadership Team, I worked closely with the other departmental directors and the North America director, to implement the organization’s three year strategic plan, as well as to run day to day operations. I managed our yearly c3 policy budget and c4 budget and determined the most strategic use of our funds. I represented 350.org in several coalition spaces as well as in the media, working daily to craft and lobby on legislation to justly transition the United States off of fossil fuels.

The mission of the Young Voices for the Planet film series is to limit the magnitude of climate change and its impacts by empowering children and youth, through uplifting and inspiring success stories, to take an essential role in informing their communities and society at large, challenging decision-makers, and catalyzing change.

The Power Shift Network mobilizes the collective power of young people to mitigate climate change and create a just, clean energy future and resilient, thriving communities for all. Members of the Power Shift Network work on diverse issues and campaigns, from fighting toxic tar sands pipelines to building locally-owned renewable energy projects to supporting young people of color to run for office.

Lobbied members of Congress and the Administration to prevent the expansion of oil, gas, tar sands and fossil fuel infrastructure. Led volunteer fly-ins of residents to lobby Congress and the Administration on fossil fuels and environmental justice issues. Worked as part of the Keep it in the Ground coalition to end leasing of fossil fuels on public lands. Conducted research and created reports on offshore drilling, crude oil exports, offshore wind, Gulf restoration, and other energy topics.

Volunteer organizer on the Katie Porter for Congress campaign as a part of the Sierra Club Victory Corps program. Mobilized potential voters and Sierra Club members in support of Katie Porter through phone banking, canvassing, leading trainings and town hall events. Used the Political Data Inc. (PDI) and the Voter Activation Network (VAN) to reach potential voters and persuade them to support the campaign.

Volunteer organizer on the Val Demings for Congress campaign as a part of the Sierra Club Victory Corps program. Mobilized potential voters and Sierra Club members in support of Val Demings through phone banking, canvassing, leading trainings and town hall events. Used the Voter Activation Network (VAN) to reach potential voters and persuade them to support the campaign.

Mobilized residents as part of the PennEnvironment Climate Defenders Campaign, to take action on the Clean Power Plan, to limit global warming pollution from power plants. Was in charge of recruiting volunteers to build community teams, petitioning, phone banking, and hosting community meetings, to influence Senator Bob Casey to support the Environmental Protection Agency rule.

Raised tens of thousands of dollars through telephone fundraising for non-profits such as the Democratic National Committee, United States Fund for Unicef, Kennedy Center, Sierra Club, Natural Resources Defense Council, and the Environmental Defense Fund.

Worked on President Obama’s grassroots re-election campaign in charge of the Springfield District in Fairfax VA, managed a staff of field organizers, fellows, and volunteers to do phone banking, canvassing and voter registration, built coalitions with local churches to register youth across northern VA, trained staff and volunteers in grassroots organizing and use of the Voter Activation Network.

Worked on a campaign to pass a clean energy and climate bill in the U.S. Senate through grassroots organizing, used the Voter Activation Network to create supporter phone bank lists and canvassing turf, managed interns and volunteers to assist in campaign, led political advocacy workshops with the business, faith, and student communities, lobbied state and national elected officials, gathered handwritten clean energy letters from Virginia residents for Senators, collected clean energy videos for the Repower America Wall, phone banked.

Worked to implement a management plan with local governments of Trinidad and Tobago to regulate city vendors, surveyed the street signage of Port of Spain, data entry of vendor applications, participated in logistical planning and daily operations as a floor manager in the International Media Center of the Fifth Summit of the Americas.

Worked on clean energy and climate legislation in the U.S. Congress, helped to create regional strategic plans for volunteer recruitment, petition gathering, and political engagement. Managed interns and volunteers, conducted lobby trainings and environmental education, organized political debates, lobbied state and national elected officials, gathered petitions, phone banked.

Contracted to assist in the literature review and data compilation for the annual State of the Environment Report, harvested applicable data from Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), reorganized EIAs into functional categories.

Conducted tours of Devils Postpile National Monument for visitors, presented educational power point presentations on the Park Service and the effects of climate change on national parks, ranger station administration, visitor assistance, sales, park maintenance, recycling management, hiking and safety patrol.

Organized and led environmentally educational field trips for students of the University of Maryland College Park Scholars Environmental Studies program, in charge of communication, transportation, and activity fees.
