Pmo Manager
CurrentThe PMO team sits within the Change Profession in Technology & Change. The profession was set up to provide centralised teams of expertise in Change Management, Programme & Project Management and PMO (Programme Management Office). Together, we’re responsible for delivering and landing projects across the John Lewis Partnership; including everything from opening new fulfilment centres to the development of new IT systems and major organisational changes - all with the aim of ensuring the continuing success and vibrancy of the Partnership through an unparalleled customer experience. Within the PMO team, my role sits within the Change Delivery Office (CDO). The CDO provides services across the entire Portfolio of change; its main purposes include tracking and reporting the performance of initiatives; carrying out analysis of delivery to provide insight and highlight issues and risks to aid decision making and to manage the Portfolio and Project Management tool, Planview. The CDO works in close collaboration with the rest of the Change Profession as well as the Portfolio team and the Transformation team.
Partner & Technology Performance Analyst
During this time, the Technology & Change Planning & Performance Hub was split into 5 towers; Cost Optimisation, Resource Optimisation & Development, Risk & Compliance, Governance and Vendor Management. The Hub delivers critical services such as performance, risk and financial reporting; data analysis; management of time recording processes and activities; operation of Joiner, Mover and Extension processes for all of Technology and Change; risk management and definition of mitigation controls; operation of spend request processes (i.e. Contracts, Purchase Orders and Change Requests), management of cost savings initiatives, etc., which in turn ensures that the Technology and Change function runs efficiently. This role provided me with invaluable insight particularly into IT Project Management, Project life cycle and project resourcing due to the involvement I had with Project reports as well as my interactions with Project and Programme Managers and Resource Management. As part of my role, I interacted with a number of other departments including IT Resource Management, IT Service Desk, PPM Clarity team, Programme Management, IT Delivery Practices, Facilities, Sourcing & Supplier Management, Resourcing and Personnel as well as my customers, stakeholders and suppliers.
It Delivery Support Analyst
Functioning as a Project Management Office (PMO) as well as a centralised function for aiding Resource Management and Financial tracking, the team and I provided analytical and administrative support to the John Lewis IT Delivery practices; Project Management, Business Analysis, Testing & Environments and Technical Design & Development as well as Architecture. Working closely with portfolio, supplier, resource management and business planning teams, my role included regular and ad-hoc analysis and reporting, project and portfolio support and supplier management support.
