Participated as a counselor for young girls (ages 12-15) during UPenn's GEMS program. The program's purpose is to introduce the girls to various STEM-related fields and give them a positive view of STEM careers.Each counselor was given a group of girls that they were responsible for throughout the duration of the program. Counselors also had to assist lecturers with labs and demonstrations and help the girls out if they ran into any problems.

Worked to survey the community of Santiago Atitlán in Guatemala on issues relating to community health and access to health services. The survey was previously approved by the World Health Organization and the information gathered in this two month project will be used to improve the health services provided to the community.
