Ensure the geospatial information system most effectively meet the needs of the OBAE by identifying and making available the best data, analysis, and tools necessary to achieve the ambitious goal of high-speed internet for all New Mexicans. Set the highest standard of quality and excellence in the implementation of geographic information & technologies (GIT); serve as the final responsibility for the accuracy and precision of the data and analytics being produced from the GIT. Represent the agency to others as the geospatial data custodian of any data originating from the agency.Function as the agency’s Chief Geospatial Data Officer and as the official data custodian for any data for which OBAE has primary responsibility for creation and maintenance.Key Responsibilities:* Manage Geospatial Information and Technology (GIT) projects, which includes interfacing with agency management, assessing risk and return on investment, managing work pipeline and budget projections, and resource scheduling for both staff and contractors.* Function in a business analyst capacity to ensure that functional requirements of the agency are translated into appropriate GIT work products, which includes documenting requirements and technical specifications, scope of work with level of effort and resource requirements; coordinating design specifications with others systems in use; and, applying GIT industry best practices.* Represent the agency’s GIS in forums that increase awareness by others, strengthen skills, and create new opportunities. This includes technical presentations of geospatial data analytics, representation of the agency as a voting member of the Geospatial Advisory Committee, and maintaining collaborative relationships to most efficiently accomplish business objectives.* Contribute to Strategic Reporting documents, such as the agency Strategic Plan, IT Strategic Plan, and various reports to funding organizations.

This involves facilitating economies of scale by connecting users, needs, and implementations across divisions. Support the agency geospatial platform by establishing standards, branding, content management, database design and business analysis support. Review and advise on any geospatial procurement needs, whether for data, application development, or hardware and software.Administer the ArcGIS Enterprise server environment, with support from the IT network, database, and applications development staff. Create and manage geodatabases in a SQL Server RDBMS.Represent the agency on the NM Geospatial Advisory Committee.
