Strategiemakers (now Elemental) is a strategy consultancy that helps companies to become more innovative and sustainable through combining design and business approaches. My work included conducting strategic innovation projects in diverse industries, strengthening research practices and setting up a knowledge sharing community about the Future of Strategy.

I finished my PhD at the KIN Center for Digital Innovation (VU Amsterdam), School of Business & Economics of the VU University Amsterdam. • My PhD research, entitled "Design meets Business: an ethnographic study of the changing work and occupations of creatives", is an ethnography that specifically explores the changing work of service designers as they move into the domain of business, especially strategy. My research discusses how their identities, work and roles have changed in this context. In my work I combine organizational and anthropological theories.• Designing, managing and executing a NWO-funded research project for the period of about 4,5 years. Developing two (international research studies): o 14+ months case study at innovation agency Waag Society, Amsterdam (the Netherlands)o 17+ months case study (ethnography) at service design firm Fjord, Madrid (Spain)• Identifying and exploring research problem through; observations, interviews, ethnography, and database creation.• Writing and publishing academic articles• Winning distinguished research awards and funding from academic and public institutions like the Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds, NL, and the Academy of Management, USA. • Expert speaker on 12+ academic and industry conferences, seminars and workshops• Founder of KINTalks where we invite people from practice to share their business experience with innovation for an audience of academics and practitioners, with the goal of connecting between both worlds.

As a Researcher (Ethnographer) I participated in a service design project, together with a team of designers to develop a new service and brand experience for a large Pension Fund. In my role, I helped the team set up a research strategy, designed and conducted user and stakeholder interviews, did observations and analyzed data. Further, we used these insights to identify and develop innovative solutions for the client. These activities were part of my work as an ethnographer at Fjord.
