Financial Institution Examiner
Current- Evaluate financial institution management by determining compliance with applicable laws/regulations, assessing quality/scope of internal/external audit procedures, assessing accuracy of information provided by board of directors, and determining whether institution practices correspond with board-approved policies- Evaluate asset quality of financial institution through review of loan files to determine borrower capacity to repay, collateral protection, payment performance, and institution underwriting and credit administration practices- Review/analyze quality of financial institution investment portfolios, including identifying complex/unusual investments for credit quality, accounting accuracy, and investment strategies- Evaluate quality of financial institution ratings through review/evaluation of institution capital position and related plans, institution earnings and budgeting process, adequacy of allowance for credit losses, institution sensitivity to market risk, and adequacy of internal measurement systems/policies- Serve as specialist/examiner-in-charge with responsibility for managing/coordinating work of examination team to ensure resolution/examination activities are complete on time, communicate with team regarding work to be performed on resolution/examination activities, and meet with financial institution management to discuss results of examination and advise officials of corrective procedures - Coordinate resolution/examination activities with counterparts in other agencies- Conduct/participate in meetings with FDIC officials, attorneys, accountants, contractors, financial institution or other private sector representatives, and/or other federal/state regulatory agency officials to discuss issues of mutual concern
